| Bladen Smart Start - A Partnership for Children, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit public/private organization designed to provide programs and services for children ages 0-5 and their families in Bladen County, North Carolina. Our programs and services provide access to high quality and affordable childcare and other critical family services. Smart Start, the initiative that created all local partnerships in North Carolina, was launched in 1993 by Governor Jim Hunt and is a comprehensive approach to preparing children for school. Local Partnerships such as Bladen Smart Start determine programs and services that best meet local needs. The North Carolina Partnership for Children is the umbrella non-profit organization, which sets guidelines as well as provides oversight and technical assistance to local partnerships across the state.
