Quality Child Care

Bladen Smart Start works with families, child care facilities, and local organizations that provide services to children and families to ensure that young children receive quality child care.

Through Smart Start funding, the programs listed below are made possible to serve the young children of Bladen County.

• Child Care Subsidy through the Bladen County Department of Social Services (Assists families in paying for child care to enable parents to work or attend school)
• Child Care Resource & Referral (Gives families information about child care facilities that have openings in their child’s age group)
• Quality Enhancement (Technical assistance to licensed child care facilities to improve their star ratings)
